The guidebook tells me: “Since medieval times a powerful fortress has been towering above the small village of Fiè. Prösels Castle. The fortress was the residence of the Counts of Völs, and bears witness to the fame and power of this aristocratic family. In the 16th century Leonhard of Völs transformed the fortress to a splendid Renaissance castle that still excites visitors today. Regular exhibitions and celebrations ensure that the castle shines in its historic splendour. Daily guided tours of the castle in the summer and 1 weekly tour in the winter give you the opportunity to explore the interior of the beautiful Renaissance castle complex: Knight’s hall, chimney room, castle chapel, collection of arms and armoury and other rooms.”
This appeals to me - I need to see it!
