A piece of South Tyrolean culture.
South Tyrolean Marende.
The South Tyrolean Marende is a hearty afternoon snack. The Marende has its origins in the times when farmers had finished their day’s work and enjoyed a wooden board richly laden with food, talked and relaxed at the end of the day. A typical South Tyrolean Marende consists of Schüttelbrot flat-bread, speck cured ham, Kaminwurze sausages, maybe some butter and a glass of Vernatsch. Cheers and enjoy!
