Between the ancient walls of the Grottner farm from the 13th century, we wanted to keep up and in the meantime also underline what represents a 800 years old tradition... but still adding some elements of modern design, parts of which we created ourselves. The uniqueness of this wine farm, which is a listed building, is underlined by the existence of only two suites. It has been renovated following some strict guidelines and now you'll find elements of modern design within ancient walls, which tell stories from the 13th century, for example the kitchen to cure meat with its black ceiling - it got its colour from the smoke, the old bread oven, which is still working, or the authentic "Bauernstube". In the cellar you can still find the old wine barrels, which soon will hold the new Grottner wine. The Grottner farm is located at 450 m above sea level and so from the village Fié/Völs (900 m above sea level) you need to down towards the Isarco/Eisack Valley.
